Regardless of what type of marketing tactics you use, content marketing should be part of your process, not something separate. Quality content is crucial to all forms of marketing:

1. Have a Content Marketing Strategy
Define your target audience before you start to produce content, hopefully you will have a social media marketing strategy in place already. Do you have something to say that is designed to “Fill The Gap”
A big part of your strategy is to find out what your audience are searching for. Will it answer a problem? Will it make them take ACTION and ask you for HELP?
2. Tell a good story
People Need to “Get” Your Content, create content that inspires ACTION, think of yourself as a storyteller you want them to come back for more. Inspire, Educate and Inform your network of customers, influencers and friends.
For that to happen, they need to understand what you are saying. DO they get your MESSAGE?
3. Be Eco Friendly
Learn to recycle and re-position previous content, things change, so keep it fresh. Use existing content you have previously created to update your audience on information that will create BENEFIT to their business.
4. Think Green
Aim for evergreen content, content that will stand the test of time. Don’t report old news, make it something that they will to come back to, a reference point of information that adds value to their businesses aims and objectives. You want them to save you to their Favourites.
5. Quality Rules
Aim for quality, you only get out, what you put in. Poorly researched content that adds no value to your audience, will do you more harm than good. You want them to share, engage and amplify your “Quality Content” It’s not about quantity it’s all about the Quality.
6. Visuals are More Effective Than Text
You need to catch their attention first, it’s a competitive environment out there. In a sea of information and messages, you have ONE chance to peak their interest. A quality visual is a MUST, take some time, be picky and choose the right one for your audience and your message.
7. Listen to Your Customers
This is such a rich vein of content, it surprises me, how many times we ignore the obvious, listening to your customers on social media is so important, they can become a valuable source of new content and ideas that will ultimately, save you time and money.
